How We Started
From Military Service to South Louisiana Grounds Care
Apex Grounds Co. was founded by a U.S. military veteran who spent years learning what it truly means to hold yourself and your team to a higher standard. After leaving service, he returned home to South Louisiana with a clear mission: bring that same discipline, dependability, and attention to detail to the grounds care industry.
The landscaping business in this region has long been defined by inconsistency — crews that do not show up, quotes that balloon once the job starts, and work that looks fine from the road but falls apart under a closer look. That was not acceptable. Apex Grounds Co. was built as the alternative.
Founded right here in Ponchatoula, we know this land. We know the heat that sets in by April, the heavy summer humidity that stresses St. Augustine grass, the afternoon storms that come off the lake, and the particular way South Louisiana soil behaves through every season. Our crew members are trained on South Louisiana-specific practices: proper mowing heights for St. Augustine and Zoysia, fertilization timing based on our subtropical climate, and how to handle the unique drainage challenges that come with this region. We do not apply a one-size-fits-all approach — because this is Louisiana, and every yard is different.
We use professional-grade equipment, maintained and serviced regularly, because the right tools — properly cared for — produce better results. From mowers to edgers to blowers, everything is dialed in before it hits your property.
